Website Intern

Job Type: Government/Non-Profit

INFORMS is seeking a part time intern to assist in the enhancement  of a web site devoted to the history of Operations Research, and hope that you can assist in a search for the intern.  The intern would work from his or her home location via email with members of the History and Traditions Committee of INFORMS, the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.

The web site can be  found at  The site features individuals, institutions, and areas of research and practice associated with this profession, which had its beginnings in World War II and has evolved since in service to many industries and fields of endeavor.

The intern would be responsible for compiling new content, particularly in the sections devoted to institutions, methodologies, and application areas.

The new content would consist of links to and citations of existing materials as well as new research articles, created by the intern, which might be eligible for publication in the literature.  There is also a need for editorial assistance, such as resolving dead links and insuring that content is appropriately formatted.   The intern’s assignment,  work output and hourly rate of pay depends on academic level, interest and experience (the previous intern was a recent history of science undergraduate who ended up pursuing a different direction – public policy – in his PhD work).
