The Department of History at Bucknell University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor, beginning fall 2014, whose teaching and research focus on colonial North America (excluding Canada but including the Hispanic Southwest). Preference will be given to those candidates with an interest in native peoples and the history of borderlands. Candidates who are ABD or Ph.D. will be considered. The successful candidate will teach advanced undergraduate courses in her or his specific field as well as introductory courses covering American history from the 16th through the 19th centuries.

The Department seeks student-centered faculty members with a commitment to supporting diversity and the liberal arts mission.
