Stanford University’s Bill Lane Center for the American West has an opening for a one-year postdoctoral fellow position. The fellow’s primary research area should be related to the American West (i.e. west of the 100th meridian in North America, including Canada and Mexico). Research topics can cover any historical periods or current affairs related to the American West. The Center welcomes applications from all academic disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. The postdoctoral fellow will pursue an independent research project, along with joint collaboration with faculty and staff at the Center, and may have instructional duties. The fellow is also expected to engage with the Center’s activities and seminars. Salary will be $65,000 per year of the fellowship appointment. The appointment is for twelve months beginning September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2021. A list of benefits is available at our website. Applicants should have received the PhD no earlier than May 2018 and must have completed all requirements for the PhD by September 1, 2020.
