The University of Florida College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position shared between the Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research (tenure home) and the African American Studies Program. We seek applicants with superior promise who combine rigorous scholarship with excellence in teaching in the areas of race and gender and/or race and sexuality; disciplinary background may be from a broad range of fields, including (but not limited to) critical/feminist science studies, history of medicine/public health, or health justice. The candidate is expected to contribute enthusiastically to the interdisciplinary research, teaching, and service mission of both units by maintaining a productive program of scholarship, supervising undergraduate and graduate students, teaching core and high-demand undergraduate and graduate courses, and engaging actively in governance and program building.
