The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at NTU Singapore invites qualified academics to apply for an Assistant Professor position in History.
Degree and Area of Specialization:
Applicants should possess a PhD in History or a related discipline. Areas of specialization are digital history/humanities, with a secondary focus either in religion, urban studies, medical humanities, or memory studies. Geographical focus and time period are open. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to apply digital tools and methodologies to humanities research. Preference will also be given to applicants who can conduct cross-disciplinary research, and teach courses which utilize interdisciplinary approaches.
Applicants should have excellent writing and oral communication skills, and have a strong record of publication and teaching experience.
The successful applicant will contribute to the School’s development of the undergraduate and graduate curricula, and is expected to teach two courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Tenure-track candidates should engage in active research leading to promotion with tenure in accordance with university policies and procedures. Outstanding research and excellent teaching performance are required for promotion with tenure. The successful candidate will be required to render departmental, university, and professional service as appropriate.
