This position is part of collaboration between History, Philosophy, Social Science and Medicine. The appointee will work with Chief Investigator Professor Warwick Anderson and collaborators to applying humanities or social science methods to the analysis of biomedical science and health policy. We are looking for a colleague who can advance science and technology studies in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the same time as engage with scientists at the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC) in their studies of chronic disease and metabolic disorders. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to the politics, governance and ethics theme of the CPC. The position will be located in the Department of History in the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry at the University of Sydney. The successful candidate will possess a) PhD in humanities or social science discipline relevant to the theme of politics, governance and ethics in health, b) commitment to applying humanities or social science methods to the analysis of biomedical science and health policy, c) demonstrated outstanding capacity for scholarly research and writing, d) evidence of ability to contribute to the research field through publications, e) expertise in science and technology studies.
