The Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens (The Huntington) invite applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Instructorship under their joint research program, The Research Institute for the History of Science and Technology at Caltech and The Huntington (RIHST). Please refer to the program description here. The area of specialization for this postdoctoral appointment is the history of early modern natural philosophy. The successful candidate will be expected to teach two (ten-week) undergraduate courses per year on the Caltech quarter system. The appointment is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2020 and contingent upon completion of the Ph.D. Interested candidates should apply electronically here.
