The University of Louisiana at Lafayette invites applications for a one-year, visiting faculty position in nineteenth-century U. S. History.  All subfields will be considered, but we especially encourage applicants with research and teaching expertise in slavery or reconstruction.  In order to receive full consideration, applicants must be at least ABD and nearing their defense date. The successful applicant will teach lecture courses and seminars, and will contribute to the M.A. program.  The position will begin in August, 2016.
