This position is located in the Division of Medicine and Science within the National Museum of American History (NMAH).

The employee is responsible for carrying out research and publications, developing and managing collections, developing exhibitions, furthering education and outreach and providing public service by responding to inquiries about the history of computing, computer gaming, and information sciences.

Responsibilities

  1. Researches the history of computers, computer gaming, and information sciences and technology through objects and collections as well as traditional sources of documentation in areas that stretch from the mid twentieth century to the present.
  2. Assists the Division to collect, manage, and interpret large and diverse collections that provide the basis for interpreting the history of computers, computer gaming, and information sciences and technology in the context of the American experience.
  3. Plays a role in helping to curate the Museum’s exhibitions on the history of computers, computer gaming, and information sciences and technology from an American perspective.
  4. Assists with the development of public programs on the history of computers, computer gaming, and information sciences and technology.
