Historian of the Department of Energy

This position is located in the Office of Executive Secretariat, Office of Management in Washington, DC.  A successful candidate in this position will research, write, publish, document, and promote the official history of the Department of Energy.”
Salary Range: $76,378.00 to $99,296.00 / Per Year
As a Historian, you will: 
  • Research, write, and prepare for dissemination books, articles, reviews, website materials, and blog posts documenting the history of the Department and its predecessor agencies for distribution to a broad audience of both the general and interested public and DOE policymakers, employees, and contractors, as requested and appropriate;
  • Provide historical services and institutional memory to assist departmental management and staff in policy and decision-making activities; and
  • Develop, maintain, and update the History pages of the Department’s website, as well as the Department’s Manhattan Project website and other websites produced by the office.
