The University of California, Davis invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant or advanced assistant professor in Technoculture, Computing, and Software Studies. The appointee will join a growing interdisciplinary team of researchers engaged in collaborative work on media ecologies and digital humanities. Applicants should have expertise in computational media, software studies, critical code studies, computer-age technoculture, and/or the history of computing. A Ph.D. in either the history of science, science and technology studies, media studies, cultural studies, American studies, literary studies, communication, anthropology, or a related field with a strong emphasis on computational technologies and digital humanities should be completed by time of appointment. Applicants should demonstrate clear commitment to undergraduate education and the promise of excellent teaching at the graduate level. Appointment will be in one or more of the following departments depending on the candidate’s background: Science and Technology Studies, Cinema and Digital Media, or English, with possible cross-appointments.
