The University of Lynchburg is seeking a candidate with teaching and scholarly expertise in the history of science and technology, including, but not limited to, the history of medicine. The time period and geographical focus are open. A Ph.D. in history is required. The successful applicant will be on a three-year contract to begin August 2020 with possibility of conversion to a tenure track position.

The successful applicant should be able to design courses in their specialty in Lynchburg’s new general education curriculum as well as upper division classes for history majors. In the first year of appointment, the candidate may be asked to teach outside of their subject area to meet department needs. The course load is a 4/4 with an expectation of service and scholarly engagement.
