Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a non-tenured position (3 years) for an Assistant Professor (“Ricercatore A”) in the area of History of Science and Technology.
The candidate will carry out research in the context of the ERC Advanced Grant “Water Cultures – The Water Cultures of Italy, 1500-1900”, PI Professor David Gentilcore. An important evaluation criterion will be experience developed in research projects relative to forms of human-water interaction from the point of view of science, technology and medicine, in Italy, from c. 1500 to c. 1900, in particular as concerns knowledge, expertise, practices, professions, culture (both material and symbolic), and society.
The position will be hosted at the Department of Humanities, a centre for the development of innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to history, literature, classics, archeology, art and anthropology. The Department has recently received the “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.
