The Department of History at Rhodes College invites applications for a three-year assistant professor position in the history of science/medicine/technology beginning in August 2014. All geographical areas, periods, and subfields are welcome. Ph.D. required, full-time teaching experience and scholarly publications desirable. 3-3 teaching load. The successful candidate will teach survey courses, seminars in the his/her area of expertise, and contribute one course per year to the College’s interdisciplinary humanities program, the Search for Values in the Light of Western History and Religion (http://www.rhodes.edu/academics/9085.asp) We encourage applications from individuals whose interests go beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries.Annual professional travel funds are included, and faculty development funds are available on a competitive basis.
