The School of Arts and Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for the Anne Stark and Chester Watson Professorship in History at open rank. The professorship is designed to promote the study of U.S. History, Texas, and the Southwest, with a particular emphasis in studies of US/Mexico borderlands. The UT Dallas history program is built upon three well-established pillars: a strong cohort of faculty in U.S. history, the Center for US-Latin America Initiatives, and the Ackerman Center for studies in holocaust and human rights. Salary is competitive and the position includes an annual research budget. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to research and publishing, undergraduate and graduate teaching, interdisciplinary education, and professional academic service. The School offers an interdisciplinary program built on three interrelated areas: Literary Studies, Historical Studies and Aesthetic Studies.
