Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford Univeristy
Job type: fellowship
Application deadline: November 4, 2016
The Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (CASBS) at Stanford University is now accepting applications for residential fellowships for the 2017–18 academic year.
Imagine a place where great minds are brought together to confront the problems of the day, where original interdisciplinary thinking is the norm, where extraordinary collaborations become possible, where ideas can change our world. CASBS was founded as such a place in 1954 and remains so today.
CASBS has hosted generations of scholars and scientists who come for a year as fellows. Former fellows include Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, winners of MacArthur “genius awards,” and hundreds of members of the National Academies. Fellows have played key roles in starting new fields, ranging from cognitive science to behavioral economics to the sociology of urban poverty. They have developed new policies and practices in fields as diverse as medicine, education, electoral politics, Third World development, and crime prevention. The CASBS fellowship provides an excellent opportunity for scholars to pursue innovative research and expand their horizons while engaging in a diverse, interdisciplinary community. A CASBS fellowship has been considered a career milestone for any scholar, and most recipients report that the year had a transformative effect on their work.
Online applications will be accepted at the Center’s website through November 4, 2016, for the 2017–18 fellowship year. For more information, guidelines, and application requirements, visit our website at https://casbs.stanford.edu/fellowships.
