ISHPSSB & ABFHiB 2017 Meeting

July 16-21, 2017, São Paulo, Brazil

The 2017 Meeting of the International Society for History, Philosophy and Social Studies of Biology (ISHPSSB) will be held conjointly with the 2017 Brazilian History and Philosophy of Biology Meeting, promoted by the Brazilian Association of Philosophy and History of Biology (Associação Brasileira de Filosofia e História da Biologia – ABFHiB).

The ISHPSSB & ABFHiB 2017 Meeting will happen at the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo, in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Researchers and graduate students are welcome to submit papers in English for presentation at this joint meeting.

Another major international conference will also happen in Brazil: the 25th International Congress of History of Science, Technology and Medicine (ICHST), promoted by the Division of History of Science and Technology (DHST) of the International Union for History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IUHPST). It will be held in Rio de Janeiro, from 23 to 29 July 2017. Hence, people attending the ISHPSSB & ABFHiB 2017 Meeting will be able to attend the 25th ICHST using a single international air ticket.

Call for papers

Deadline for sessions, papers and posters proposals: October 1st 2016 to January 15th 2017.

This message it is now possible to submit proposals of open sessions for the ISHPSSB & ABFHiB 2017 Meeting (July 16th – 21th 2017 at IB-USP, São Paulo). http://www.abfhib.org/ISHPSSB-2017/3-board.html

Please remember that open organized sessions are excellent opportunity to promote exchanges with different researchers.

If you would like to propose an Open Organized Session, we ask you to consult first the guidelines for organized sessions, and afterwards fill the online form. https://goo.gl/forms/zdGy0u2qSxSdWNev2

For filling the online form, you should have this information:

  • Your personal information: Full name; E-mail; Affiliation; Status
    (student, researcher, professor, etc.)
  • Proposed session title and abstract

Notice that proposing an Open Organized Session is just a preliminary
step for submitting a closed proposal. After posting your proposal and
exchanging messages with interested people, you must submit your
session to be included in the program, using another online form (see
organized sessions), from October 1st 2016 until January 15th 2017.
