March 6-7, 2020, San Juan Island, WA, USA
This year’s meeting will be held March 6-7 at Friday Harbor Labs on San Juan Island (as usual). The Call for Papers and more information lives here.
We are very excited to announce 2020’s Nancy and Norman Benson Keynote Speaker: long-standing CHSG Alum, Professor Emeritus from the University of Puget Sound and Affiliate Professor of Earth & Space Sciences at the University of Washington, our very own Professor Mott Greene. Most recently Mott published the tour-de-force Alfred Wegener: Science, Exploration, and the Theory of Continental Drift (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2015), and, for his keynote, envisions sharing some promising future lines of investigation in the history of science given current rapidly-shifting trends in the production and communication of scientific knowledge.
This will be a very special meeting for other reasons as well. It will be our last meeting at the Labs given some pretty steep price increases. We hope you can join us to honor some wonderful traditions and more than thirty years of memories and good times at the Labs. Maybe we’ll even do t-shirts again!
