October 6-8, 2016, St Paul, MN

Call for papers

The School of Engineering and the Department of Theology at the University of St. Thomas invite proposals for “A Culture of Ethics: Engineering for Human Dignity and the Common Good,” a conference to be held at St. Thomas October 6-8, 2016.  This conference will provide a forum for examining the unique challenges faced by engineers who want to design for the good of humanity and the environment. It is expected that some sessions at the conference will focus on engineering education and academic research on topics relevant for engineering ethics, while other sessions will focus on ethical challenges and best practices in engineering workplaces. Conference attendees will be a mix of academics and working professionals. In addition to proposals from engineers, the conference organizers encourage submissions from theologians, philosophers, natural scientists, medical ethicists, historians of technology, economists, political scientists, lawyers, and specialists in any area who are interested in the ethics of engineering and technology.
