Society members have formed numerous Interest Groups & Caucuses dedicated to promoting study of particular aspects of the history of science. These groups are formally recognized and encouraged by the Society, and often organize sessions or special activities during the Society’s annual meeting each November. Others sponsor prizes for excellent articles or dissertations on specific fields. In addition to these, the HSS holds affiliate status with several other societies devoted to the humanities.
